People come to therapy for a variety of reasons based on referral from their primary physician or a recommendation from a friend or loved one. Sometimes they simply seek a clinician because they feel that their life and relationships are in chaos. During individual therapy sessions the client and clinician meet and build trust and rapport so they can work collaboratively toward achieving the client’s desired goals. Individual sessions normally last for 45-55 minutes. Sometimes the session requires more time depending on the issues a client brings to the session.
The length of treatment depends on the problem presented by the client. Each individual will work with me to set their goals and work toward understanding the time frame for their recovery process.
