Trauma Treatment and Recovery, Anxiety, Phobias and Addictions
Using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) I target the problematic psychological and feeling states that people experience in their lives such as anxiety, tense emotional responses, and triggers for substance abuse. Oftentimes people will present with feeling overwhelmed, like their life is out of control, feeling stuck or feeling frozen. They may not be able to do what they used to do and their emotional responses get in the way of them being successful. This proven approach allows the therapist and client to collaborate for improved emotional well-being and results are noticeable over a short period of time.
Typically clients will report “I am amazed at how much better I feel over such a short period of time.” “I’ve struggled with this anxiety for decades and now it is gone.” A 43-year old woman was unable to sleep in the dark and after only three sessions she was able to sleep in the dark. While each client is different, results are often instantaneous relief. EMDR isn’t a miracle treatment and requires that a trained, certified professional conduct the treatment sessions.
